Pretty sure that they think that Sofia is dead, but she has most likely just gone "missing" after the battle. So she's not actually dead but they don't know that. They just know about the huge explosion and the crater that was left behind after their battle.

I only found season 4 a bit boring, everything else was great for me. The start of S5 currently though is kind of boring, for sure.

I just can't get used to the voices on sub for this one...

If you decide to watch it (like I did), I would say to skip EVERy filler arc, and even consider skipping some "Anime Canon": episodes because they're the boring episodes of Boruto.

Just skip them, I told my friend before to watch Naruto (and Shippuden) with fillers (because that's how I started, but rewatched multiple times without filler), and he didn't like Naruto as much as I did, and it was mainly because of the fillers. I would just avoid them, and if you decide to go to Boruto (Just don't, its very poor, am watching it rn to get through it).

To watch the anime, I would just watch a summary of the previous arcs (cuz they don't really matter besides for character development for the new characters and a few thing about Boruto's powers), and then just skip to the recent arc (near 157 ep).

Let me just jump in here and say some stuff about Naruto/Boruto fillers. I have probably rewatched Naruto like 3 times (I don't count them as full rewacthes since I quit on the end part of shippuden, but for sure done one full rewatch).

When I started watching Naruto for the first time, I didn't even know what fillers were back then so I stuck through the fillers. Some of the fillers weren't bad, but once you go from a main part of a story (manga canon) to something weird that doesn't matter (filler), it takes a lot of your attention away from the show and people end up getting bored.

I used to recommend watching Naruto fillers (before Boruto came out) a long time ago to my friends (because of "You probably won't be able to come back to watch them again cuz you will already know the story ... blah ... blah, and how they add somewhat to the character's personality"), but when I saw how they stopped watching Naruto for a month and continued on with other shows since they were more interesting, I went back to see how bad the filler were (on my first rewatch) and yeah, they were pretty boring and props to me for staying with the fillers when I was first watching Naruto.

The same thing happened with Boruto. Some fillers are good, yeah, but they take away a lot of time from the main story and you end up getting bored quickly. Boruto is just too many things scrambled together, and the main story only comes at certain points. I have long since then stopped recommending Naruto (and now Boruto) fillers to people cuz of how much the expectations of my friends went down by watching Naruto with fillers than just watching normal Naruto is crazy.

Yeah, the starting seasons were super awesome, and it was one of my favorite animes until the 3rd-4th season dropped with their bad quality. I really want a remake of the anime in the future, but it probably won't happen.

Yeah, it is hard but I feel like the story definitely could have been better. The idea of Boruto not wanting to become a Hokage and follow Sasuke's path was a decent idea but they didn't push into it, and just gave us random fillers with boring stuff. Bourto cheating was dope too with the scroll technology, and I can also see how that can change stuff but it just went in a boring way, even the Kakashi and Guy moments I loved in Naruto were overdone, I just didn't like it.
