First chapter in a long time that hit me in the feels. I hope Akasaka doesn't pull any punches and dedicates to Aqua's death.
What does make me anxious is a joke my younger brother made, that he is going to be reincarnated as Ruby's fucking son or something (ㆆᴗㆆ) Now I am dreading the possibility of such a horrifyingly gross cop-out.
Although I could see the symbolism in such a route: Ruby/Sarina being the parent figure to Aqua/Goro that he was to her, and rising above her mother's neglect. Still, I hate the idea of that outcome
It is one of the rare series in which every character feels like a human being. Every single character in this series is lovable, even the side characters. In most other series, the side characters are there for comic relief, to flesh out the cast, but here, every character feels like they contribute to the story and/or character development for our protagonist, Sakuta Azusagawa.
The main character helps his female peers overcome supernatural symptoms they are facing as a part of the rumored adolescence syndrome/puberty syndrome. I was pleasantly surprised by how maturely the topic of mental health was handled within this series.
This all comes together as a truly engaging comedy-drama series, with some of the best dialogue I've ever heard. Our protagonist, Sakuta, and deuteragonist, Mai, share a chemistry that makes every one of their conversations quality television on its own. Both of them are witty and always have a response to everything.
I wrote a review for this show like a year ago, but my writing in it was trash, and I just remembered about it now (time to privatise lol)
I had been planning to read Oshi No Ko ever since Gigguk made a video about it a few years ago. The concept of delving into the dark reality of the entertainment industry intrigued me, but I never got around to it.
When I learned that it was being adapted, I was excited because I would finally have the opportunity to experience the series. However, it was released during my exam season, so it became one of those things I was eager to watch but constantly kept postponed.
Anyway, despite being slightly disappointed, I thoroughly enjoyed every episode of the show, although the last episode didn't have much impact on me. That being said, I couldn't stop watching.
So yeah, I can't wait for season 2. That being said, I'm debating between waiting or reading the manga.
Oh yeah, and OP and ED go hard as fuck, and imo perfectly illustrate the themes of the series.
@NeedForWeeb Yessir, but sadly it is exam season. As soon as these goofy ahh exams are over, It'd be my honour to beat you in Val.
@Rinko Why don't you like Kaguya season 1 episode 11? I saw in your notes you said, "Frick episode 11" (I'm sorry if it's a bland question, I thought this would be a fun forum game to take part in, but I couldn't think of anything else to ask ?)
