whenever I watch something dubbed, its because I'm half paying attention to it-- ex: while I'm washing dishes. Washing dishes doesn't take too much attention, but enough to where I can't keep up with the subtitles, BUT also enough where I can still keep up with the story and what is going on.
But that's just me. Some people just find it better because they just don't like having to read subtitles.

your name: I think what makes it higher rated for me is the music. 10/10 music for me and that I just got absorbed by it I feel like.
Horimiya: Okay you have me there, It is average, it's only average. But I think it hit some of the things I really like in anime. I don't really have an example of it but I agree the rating could be lower.
