Another amazing episode! I could not agree more with Makio's messaging of not everyone needing to be in love, and as a Gen Z'er I think its an idea super important to me where in this age being single is directly attributed to being unhappy or undesirable (but given more though I guess thats for every generation, I should've thought harder lol).
I don't get it
So think harder
I love seeing Makio feeding Asa a concept but not just holding her hand through it. The lessons she teaches are truly meant to be internalized through much much deep thought. Having the patience to both introduce something hard and sit with someone understand is such a deep and proper love
Getting to hear Asa sing was quite a treat! Its super cliched, but I really do hope we get to see her spread her wings and sing for the club after being given that push from Makios friend! And such wonderful advice she had! Do not let labels cage you!!!!!!!!! Who cares, live your life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Another amazing episode!!!!!!!!! I loved how well the captured that kind of teenage irrationality in Asa. "Would a child skip school for bubble tea?" and the answer is so obviously yes! Both seeing her lash out on Makio and Makio keeping her cool was done so well and really showcased that kind of parental maturity a guardian should have.
I really liked how Makio did not just give Asa empty words to comfort her. Asa asking how could her mother love her is begs the question, is love conditional, even between a parent and child? Makio walking her through of how she seems to have been loved is a beautiful retort, and I loved her acknowledging that there is still ambiguity because the emotions belong to another being.
All together, the interactions were so beautifully human. Super stoked for the next episode!!!
