Things might change i mean the only reason FLCL sequels have really good animations is because people cared about it so you never know.

Nowdays there is quantity over quality aproach, sadly :/. Although the tecnology and techique keep progressing, its more lucrative to put out 5 mediocre shows than one FLCL. But it stems from people just eating it up.
I guess nowdays most watchers just want something to pass the time instead something memorable leaving an impact

I think i depends even though in my case its probably the genre i most rewatch. If the ending doesn't have a plot twist or the story doesn't rely on mystery too much i find looking for details i missed the first time to be enjoyable. It really depends though =)
