A cute thing and very easygoing, but not really any meat on the bones there. Enjoyed watching it, probably won't ever rewatch it. 6/10 for me but that's still above average. A respectable effort by the studio, looked good, well paced, consistent quality throughout the series.
Call of the Night and The Dangers In My Heart seem like obvious comparisons and both are much stronger shows, but as a cute SoL thing this brightened up an otherwise pretty rough season.
This is really well done! I do love the personality awards, though I will say I have the "Gore Hound" one and I'm not sure why, I primarily watch romance and comedy shows, there's maybe one or two shows in my entire completed list that have the horror or thriller tag, and the vast majority of "psychological" tagged shows I have are the "Rascal Does Not Dream" series and Medalist, neither of which are particularly gory, lol. Maybe just an issue with AniList's tagging, "psychological" is not a very descriptive genre tag.
Overall though a super cool idea and fantastic execution, thanks so much for this. I'd love to get an exportable summary image to share too if that's possible, these badges are too cool not to share.
Nashida is such a train wreck I love her. This episode was so cute, that new puppy energy is doing everyone good.
I continue to be very impressed with the characterization in this show. Each member of the cast feels distinct and consistent, and more importantly the dynamics between characters are really strong. Which makes things like Ha-san admitting to Nashida that she would miss her or Sato's regret at not petting the puppy land so well. Legitimately great sitcom writing imo.
I do hope there's eventually some actual romantic progress and it's not just Yuri bait forever but honestly it's so much fun I'm fine with living and playing in the dynamics we have now.
While it was fairly obvious he would draw her at some point I think they did a pretty good job with that moment. Still weird tension between potential romance and the parent/child thing imo. Still cute and wholesome I'm just curious to see if and how they pull that thread. It's a cute show and I'm glad they're introducing some character growth, this beach outing arc has done a lot to actually progress some plot.
I still don't like that Otori is faceless it creeps me out.
Well I'm very proud of Sato for making the move and speaking her mind, I was actively shouting at the TV for Futami to tell Sato she wanted to work with her, Sato even trying to squeeze it out of her asking if there were other reasons. I think it's cute that it brought out her passion, the thing that Sato liked her for in the first place, catalyzing her decision to tell those harpies to get bent. Now if Futami can figure it out...
I felt a little bad for Ha-san this episode and that's not the first time that's happened. She's been Futami's support and partner, but Futami likes Sato. I dunno if Ha-san really feels that way about Futami but she's definitely put in the time and effort. Today, we see that she clearly likes Tomo, but Tomo and Yashida-san are weirdly similar it turns out and kinda hit it off. She was even openly jealous there at the end when they were talking about Tomo sleeping over. I worry about the poor girl, she's the only one with her head on straight, surrounded by a bunch of hot messes.
I do think the characterization in this show is really strong, you get to know these characters pretty well quickly, they're doing a great job with that. Looking forward to learning more about Nekonote too.
I'm enjoying this show quite a bit, it's just so damn cute. It does seem like we have some bubbling romantic feelings here, everyone ribbing Otori, and Luna being flustered there at the end. They've really been pushing pretty hard on the family dynamic so I've been curious to see how they handle that transition, and this episode is a notable step in that direction. We'll see if they pull it off, but you could imagine a much grosser version of this idea and they've managed to avoid that pretty deftly so far.
This was a cute episode overall but Oota still kinda sucks. I really didn't like him not suffering any repercussions from butchering her bangs. He ruined the class party with his dumbshit prank, again to no consequences. He denied knowing Kashiwada to her face and she didn't even flinch. He's honestly an asshole, and nobody seems to push back on it.
I like it. Ratings don't mean much this early in the season. Production is good, comedy is good, plot seems to be shaping up nicely. Maybe not breaking any new ground or blowing anyone away, but it's pretty cute and I laugh a least a couple times per episode.
Probably my second favorite new comedy so far this season behind Mangaka's Weirdly Wonderful Workplace.
Yeah honestly this is my hope as well. If he doesn't learn from this and the show is just him being an insufferable jackass I probably won't stick around. All of that said, the first few episodes of The Dangers In My Heart have a similar "this fuckin' guy" problem but pivots pretty quickly into character growth, so I'm willing to give it a few more episodes.
