I agree that a lot questions keep arising however, I think it's actually Torazo's inner monologue that you're talking about. It's framed kind of weird but Torazo starts an inner monologue right after Shio's starting with "He's well trained.". Because even though Shio is definitely shocked at the sheer force of Hibaru's abilities I don't think he would ever compliment Hibaru even in his inner monologue. We've also seen Torazo refer to Kongo as "Dad" before rather than a more formal name or version of "Dad"
This review is a little scuffed because I have some other IRL things I have to do.
I think this is the fourth chapter in a row that's taken my favorite spot. The highlights for me were the death of Gido, Terasu using his shield to save Hibaru, Shio's ruthlessness, and Torazo saving the day at the end to set up a brawl between the two.
Shio didn't deserve you Gido. RIP. I think this chapter confirms though that if Gido had met Hibaru first, his life would have been drastically different. I mentioned this last chapter that Gido is basically a product of his environment. Horrible home life -> Bullied at school -> Then adopted into a yakuza family and made into a heartless hitman. Now to the scene of his death. I was not expecting a full page dedicated to seeing his heart basically get blasted out of his body. And I honestly thought that maybe theirs a chance for Gido to survive, simply cause it's a manga. But then we saw Shio obliterate his entire body.
Something I noticed about this scene though is the smile on Gido's face when Shio says he was useful till the end. It was a smile that I couldn't help but feel uneasy about, was Gido smiling because Shio is complimenting him? Was he smiling because finally his painful torturous life has come to an end? Gido was a short sweet but also tragic character. And I think throughout this story we're going to be seeing more a lot more of that character type.
Shio's appearance was completely unexpected to me. I thought we might see him in a different scene, but not right now in the main battle. I still can't completely tell what his Astro is. If I had to guess I would say something with magnetism or gravity.
I loved the conversation between Hibaru and Shio and seeing their differing ways of thinking. You can tell Hibaru's ideals are more traditional and honorable like when he asks Shio why he didn't face Gido like a human being. We still don't know too much about Shio and where he gets his dark persona and inhumane ideals from, but in time we'll find out.
I think this battle will also change Hibaru's character quite a bit. He seems insistent on this whole succession battle just being a "fight between brothers". So I think the death of Gido and the almost death of all his friends and some of his brothers will come as quite a wake up call for him.
Torazo is still the goat
This chapter had so many good panels, but of course im just gonna keep it to a few favorites

I appreciate that you like the reviews, I plan to keep doing them for future chapters because I'm really enjoying the series and wanna share that with any others who are also interested in the series. Either as fans already or new people that just wanna see whats happening in the latest chapter.
And my Shio theory, that's just a small one I thought of off the top of my head. I can think of so many ways for Gido's character to be used, but we'll just have to wait and see. Either way I'm really excited for it.
