There been a decent amount of these... recursive?.. isekai's lately. This one ended up pretty close to link Maou Gakuin in terms of quality, which while not exactly a rousing endorsement is not particularly damning either.
Love this franchise and definitely enjoyed the switch from link psychological thriller to heavy sci-fi Mad Max-alike.
That said, this flashforward at the end is just plain terrible.
What a surprisingly entertaining combination of link Tensai Ouji and link Hamefura.
It is a bit weird though how it flips back and forth between following the game's plotline and wildly deviating from it.
Notably better animation than link the prequel, but still a bit lacking for what's supposed to be an action series.
More of an issue is the pacing.
While the first season ended up skipping over a good chunk of the source material to fit everything in, the events it did show played out pretty smoothly. By contrast, the event transition here is choppy and uneven (the heavily abbreviated arrival at the oasis town and altered introduction to Myuu's hometown stand out in particular).
While I can't say I enjoyed this conclusory arc much at all, the rest of the series was surprisingly entertaining despite the rather lacking animation quality.
Overall I'd say it's worth watching if you're into the 'brilliant but lazy strategist' trope, and I'm cautiously optimistic for a potential sequel.
All the worst parts of link Sekai Saikou no Ansatsusha, link Hachi-nantte, and link Maou Gakuin no Futekigousha synthesized into a tired retread of overpowered protagonist clichés.
Easily one of the worse isekai Anime.
Reminds me of link Knight's & Magic in the lack of believability department without any of the technical quality.
Aside from the garbage CGI in the previous episode, this ends up a remarkably entertaining action-focused overpowered MC show.
Of course, you'll have to already be a fan of those kind of self-insert stories in order to enjoy it. It doesn't do anything much to break the mold, just executes it competently.
Characters and story were definitely nothing to write home about, but it was more engaging than link the previous version and often featured some pretty cool visuals.
While I can't say anything good about this ass-pull of a climax (felt like I was watching link KADO all the sudden), the series as a whole still ends up worth watching for the journey up to this point.
At first I wanted to say something like "another otherwise good show ruined by hatred of proper chronology", but to be honest it's merely a barely watchable show.
Definitely completely unwatchable in broadcast order though. Hopefully whoever's idea that was (presumably the director's) never gets any adaptation work again; let them stick to Anime original works or naturally achronological stories.
They were the ones who specifically encouraged him to do what he did. They are the ones responsible for the disaster. The world's destruction is the fault of people trying to get Shinji to be someone he's not, and in this movie they have not learned from their mistake. They in fact blame him for their mistake.
You also seem to be unaware that this movie is nothing like what it was originally designed to be. If anything, link Anno baited himself.
