Thanks to Walnut's cover up, everything seems back to the status quo. At least it's quite a good "flex-tape"-tier quick fix to prevent the lynchings of Lycoris at the tower. But, I think Majima still wont quite satisfied with this outcome.

Majima already proposed Chisato to "fight together" last episode. Maybe it's time for further negotiation and plan execution (if Chisato decided to accept his proposal)

Also, why Walnut and Mizuki seem so satisfied like everything is over? Did they forget about Chisato's heart?

Chisato's reaction when she see the bag is also really suspicious. It's like she already know the plan. Maybe she know that (1) : it must be Majima who retrieved her bag in the old tower, (2) : Majima wont kill her at all cost, since he needs her anyway, and (3) : this matter should be discussed privately without any interference with the other Lycoris. They dont know enough context who Majima really is and probably will shoot Majima on sight (i'm looking at you, Takina). Also, I believe the DA's order to kill Majima is still active right now.

The goverment also should be playing along with Walnut's narrative. Lycoris should be disbanded, but i wonder if they will keep the clandestine secret police operation somewhere else with the new team. I hope Majima & Chisato could really tackle this problem.

This "Lycoris" thingy is really happened on my country. But I heard two completely different public opinion regarding this issue. Since it's really fresh from everyone's mind. Just ask a random adult, and they can give you their own experience.

Some people (mostly, worker class) think that era is one of the most peaceful era in the country. Really peaceful, no public protest to the government, low crime rate, etc.

But for some people (the activists and the people who get wrongly accused as criminal by the government) think that era is "the age of terror". They should not ever casually talk about the wrongdoing of government with your friends, since some of them are probably a secret government spy who will dispatch a Lycoris squad to make you disappear without a trace next day.

In the anime, there is still no direct explanation whether the Lycoris squad ever killed other than actual criminal (for example : the government's political enemy or people who get wrongly accuses by the government), but the chances are very high.

Tldr : Lycoris squad is literally mindless drone to the evil DA. Don't sympathize to them, even they are cute girls. Chisato is good enough to quit the evil system inside the DA. She even has the freedom to choose and conduct her own mission by herself based on her own superior philosophy. For example : non lethal policy while neutralizing the enemy, focusing on doing good deeds to others no matter how odd the job is (tea delivery, language teaching, working at kindergarten).

Poor, poor orphan girl, exploited by their own evil government. 大丈夫, Majima, Takina and Chisato will team up to fight this injustice. Yes, Takina included because she's already publicly denounced the DA by abandoning the mission and prefer to save Chisato anyway. みんなさん,ちょっと任せてね~~

Here is my theory this week :

• Chisato did tons of good deeds while using Lycoris uniform. She will singlehandedly improve the public image of Lycoris squad and prevent public lynching against Lycoris.

Weird things are happening on my country right now. A real life Majima is single-handedly doing massive cyberattack to government's IT infrastructure, while exposing the goverment's wrongdoings to the public people through his twitter account & telegram channel.

He proceeds to leak several high-ranking official's private data, and lot of people are raiding the leaked phone number, due to their frustrations to the government. If somebody is brave enough, they can literally raid the target's house, since the address is leaked too. But so far, there's no report of such thing.

Just as i'm curious to Majima's fate at the end of this anime, i'm also curious about how this real-life Majima matter will be handled by the goverment. They are both giving the public a "free weapon" to channel the public's frustration toward the government. They are also both heavily targeted by the government's secret service right now. They are also both giving very nice, heroic speeches too to the public. Haha..

Automated episode discussions is actually quite risky.. It will generate tons of data each week and most of them are probably will be left empty. People are selective in picking their seasonals menu, and they even dropped some of them mid-season.

• Takina and the rest of Lycoris will continue to execute the mission (kill Majima). Yet Takina apparently has her own personal mission (interrogate Majima regarding Shinji's whereabouts)
• Chisato & Mika will meet Shinji. Chisato wants to talk again with him. (why?)
• Tower bombing ETA : 1 hour. Why is Majima keeping Shinji hostage and trying to "bait" Chisato? Why is he giving the masses lot of guns? I cant really predict his movement at all.

Surprise element :

• Kurumi : i think she has a plan
• Mizuki : join forces with Kurumi
• The people's overall reaction after finding the gun cache : really nice surprise element, since we dont really know the actual state of the "society" right now. But at least we already saw a glimpse of it. For example, the police's getting suspicious of the Lycoris' cover ups. Or why this episode's salaryman decided to kill himself
• Shinji's briefcase : remember when Majima ambushed Shinji's car? What is the Shinji's actual destination back then. Or is he "letting himself get caught by Majima" since he has some serious, big, keikaku? (TL notes : keikaku means plan)
• Alan's backstory : why is only two people shown so far, where is the rest? they want chisato to become world's best hitman, but who's their actual target?

Imagine yourself. Chisato, Mika, Shinji, Majima, Takina, all together inside a single room, while the bomb keeps ticking. On the outside, there is a big, bloody, war between Majima's gang and Lycoris squad. Oh also, people are rioting. Oh, maybe Kurumi and Robota is doing some intense hack battle that will affect the whole battlefield.

Imagine that, and predict the ending.

Since i cant draw, i need an illustrator then.. :D

1. Majima is already declaring war to Lycoris (that Police Station raid scene). With that Robota's USB plugged to Police Station's internal network, we still dont know what are they trying to do. Maybe yet another DA's "Radiata" AI hacking?
2. Majima already knows that Alan is somewhat bad guys.
3. Majima next plan is bombing the new tower.
4. Majima is attacking Shinji (why?)
5. DA is attacking Majima (revenge of course?)
6. Chisato probably will join back to DA to attack Majima, since her condition (Takina's reassignment) is already fulfilled. Non-lethally of course
7. Takina is joining back to DA to attack Majima. (?)
8. Takina want to save Chisato.
9. Walnut want to save Chisato.

So we got several factions : Alan, Majima, DA, Chisato and "Save Chisato Squad!" (Takina, Walnut and LycoReco staffs).

• Alan & DA's ties is still mysterious. At least they are now both coercing Chisato to fulfill her mission.
• I still can't understand Majima's true motive. Probably destroying both Alan and DA all at once?
• Chisato is the center of the story. Already accepted her "death", and just trying to do good deeds and enjoy the moment while it lasts. Still genki and full of optimism!
  • "There's no point worrying about stuff you have no control over! Just accept it and forge onward! That's usually enough to make good things happen."
• "Save Chisato Squad!" want to save Chisato.
  • Special mention to Walnut, who since episode 1 already suspected Alan (why is a philiantrophic organization getting involved in arms dealing?) as the bad guys. She's already willing to fight them alone.

Also, how about LilyBell? We got a very suspicious Chekhov's Gun over here.

As a scholarship recipient by myself, I frequently got this kind of threat and i can relate to that. Whether it's someone else, trying to hijack the vaguely defined "mission" so i can be forced to do their own interpretations. Or some random passerby, who's asking my progress in fulfilling "my mission". Sure, the scholarship is literally saving my life, and i owe my life to this scholarship and the donor organization. But I have my own principle and ideals to adhere with. I'm working hard everyday to fulfill my own mission.

And the fact that, in the end , I actually got a huge fight with my own scholarship donor organization is really something else (yes, eventually they force me to do something fishy). I can relate to Chisato so much. :'))

Superb balance and contrast, between SOL and heavy plot.

• Yoshi said : "Chisato must stop playing house", then scene transition to comfy SOL scene at LycoReco cafe. What a contrast.
• Chisato's phone is ringing with cutesy song, while she's under Majima's gun point. Tense scene with funny BGM. What a contrast.
• I cant believe Chisato & Majima now is acting buddy buddy, complete with comfy session discussing their favourite movies while drinking coffee, even though they're trying to kill each other before. What a contrast.

Now, theory time :

• What's the purpose of Majima's visit to Chisato's house? To know her better? Gain new allies? At least, now he had taken a liking to Chisato, since they are "similar" in term of prioritizing their own personal freedom, not being controlled by Alan or DA.
• Majima is aware that Alan is somewhat evil. Is he somewhat lesser evil than Alan or what? Now what is his goal afterall. Remember that Majima and his gang got their weapon from Alan, during ep 1 transaction. Remember that during Majima v Chisato episode, Robota (a covert Alan's underling) is trying so hard to make Majima "interested" with Chisato, which is quite a success right now. Sure, Majima maybe prioritize his own freedom, but did he even realize that he's currently being secretly controlled by Alan?
• What about Yoshi's plan? He explicitly stated that "Chisato must stop playing house (at LycoReco Cafe)". But he ordered her assistant to "be gentle" when handling Chisato, which is so far so good (she even prevented Chisato's fall when she's being incapacitated after the injection shot).
• The biggest mystery here is : Alan's true goal (i believe, both Chisato and Majima must be really needed in achieving their goal) , DA's backstory and bigger plan (already mentioned briefly during ep 1, when Kusunoki is discussing with her assistant regarding how to report the mission's failure to their higher up. And yes, opening LycoReco cafe branch is part of their big plan. And yes, sending Takina to LycoReco cafe is also part of their big plan), the relationship between Alan & DA (how come Alan's operative could do that to Chisato, right inside the DA's branch), what is Chisato's promise to Yoshi, what is Mika's promise to Yoshi. We still need more information.
• In short : Alan and DA is probably the big bad, each having their own delicate long term plan. Majima, Chisato, Takina, LycoReco staffs, DA staffs, Lycoris girls are just Alan/DA ' s pawn. Can these pawns realize what's the bigger picture around them and start emerging as a third party to balance (and fight) Alan/DA's power? There are several potential individual that actually can do this : Walnut (as an individual, already trying to sniff out Alan agency alone since first episode), Majima (he's already know that Alan is bad), Mika & Mizuki (they are really tired of DA's wrongdoings), Chisato (Already openly lash out her commander at DA.)

So far it's quite accurate. As a programmer myself, i'm quite enjoying all the hacker-talk that Robota did back then on ep 6. For example :

• It's hard to hack government system when they are using their own custom OS. The details about custom made OS is shrouded in mystery, so there are little known exploitable vulnerabilities.
• Robota's hacker friend later suggested that the only way to hack it, is either gain access to system, physically (as they did in this episode, by storming the police station), or exploiting the OS's backdoor (something that only expert hacker, like walnut, could do). Exploiting OS's backdoor is really, really hard.

Walnut is using node.js to build her own search engine.

Npm packages shown on screen : buffer , buffer-shims, inherits , and core-util-is.

She's probably using dsari-spider to scrap the web. Which is make sense if someone is trying to build their own search engine.

The police station's MacOS network speed viewer just crashed while updating the UI label. Maybe it caused by malware that Robota made on that USB stick.

Oh, Robota's hacking style is involving hardware access (stolen lycoris phone, plug an USB to the police station), which is quite not as good as Walnut's hacking style (all remote). Nowadays, when most of computers are already connected to the network, we dont have to gain physical hardware access anymore to hack something. Robota is a skilled hacker, but Walnut is more skilled.

Walnut entered a funny name to the Bar's database. But the officer is believing it anyway since it's exist on the database.

"People who trust nothing but data only end up stupider! You should be careful as well"

Cue DA's blunder for believing Robota's misinformation.

As a computer science student who experienced a lot of fads and hypes regarding "data science", "data is the next oil", and any other jargons that worship the data excessively, walnut's line here is quite a reality-slap for me.

Even though Chisato got beaten down badly by Majima last episode. She draws him quite handsomely, just like shojo manga ikemen. Suspicious.

I definitely ship them tho :D

Walnut is the only one in the Lycoreco Cafe that is unaffiliated with DA. Quite a scary moment here.

For some reason, takina wearing men outfit, escorting Chisato to the bar, reminding me to Pekora who work as Poporon's bodyguard during her shows..

Balance? Maybe it's a three-way deadlock. Two more independent agencies, each admonishing the other to keep each agency from running amok, and then killing each other. (?) I wonder if Lily Bell is a unit with higher combat power, and if it is not under DA, but a completely separate organization that monitors DA and each other to make sure they don't run amok, it would make sense that they went to take care of Chisato after he left DA.

"An Alan Lycoris? You're a real interesting one. What's your mission. That thing."

So, each Alan recipient have their own, specific mission? Even Majima know much about this Alan thingy. This is too referenced in the last episode

"Just why have you been granted life? Carefully ponder that question!"

Takina's character development. No more murders.

"That was me back then. I hacked into DA for a job. I had to do it to get closer to that client. I just infiltrated DA security at the time I was told."

Since ep 1, Walnut has been trying to investigate Alan. When she directly asked the Alan guy, why Alan got involved in arm dealings, her apartment suddenly bombed by a drone, which is remote-controlled by Robota, one of Alan's underlings, as shown in this episode.

"Your hired terrorist all suddenly vanished upon entry into Japan. You want to investigate and deal with the cause."

All the terrorists that killed by Lycoris in ep 1 are Majima's underlings.

1. Majima. Know about Alan. (or, maybe everyone know about Alan. Since it's popular on TV and news. Even the public itself quite suspicious about Alan's true motive, as shown in ep 1 news TV scene). Main motive : want to commit some terrorism act, but prevented by DA. Now he want to directly attack DA.
2. Alan. For some reason, really interested in Chisato right now. Quite disappointed after knowing that Chisato dont want to kill anyone anymore. Involved in arm trade dealings with Majima and co. Both Alan and Majima have huge concerns regarding "the balance".
3. Walnut. For some reason, she want to investigate Alan. Is she doing it alone or what?
4. DA. Treating their Lycoris so badly. Some people who involved with DA in the past (Mika & Mizuki) even despise them right now.
5. Lycoris (Takina included). DA's puppet. Now trapped on this huge government conspiracies, heavily targeted by Majima, and their lives are on constant danger.
6. Mika & Mizuki : Openly hate DA right now. But somehow still loosely involved with DA's activity. I still don't understand about their relationship with DA right now.
7. Chisato : Should she feign loyalty to DA or to Alan? She's quite hugely indebted to both of them (orphanage + artificial heart).
8. Lily Bell : Male Lycoris. Targetting Chisato specifically in the past. Need more information about them.
